SportsComp publishes its international Delphi protocol for sports-physiotherapy competencies

How should universities across Europe agree on what a competent sports physiotherapist needs to know? The SportsComp Erasmus+ project — in which CeprLab is the University of Thessaly partner — has published the protocol for the international study designed to answer exactly that.

What SportsComp is

SportsComp is a three‑year Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership (2023–2026) that updates the international sports‑physiotherapy competency framework and turns it into e‑learning courses at EQF level 7. The consortium brings together five institutions — Jamk University of Applied Sciences (Finland, coordinator), the University of Tartu, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the University of Thessaly, and the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy.

What was published

The protocol paper sets out the international, multidisciplinary Delphi and qualitative method the project uses to reach expert consensus on the competencies. It gives the wider community a transparent view of how the framework is being updated — useful for educators designing curricula and for students entering the field.
