About CeprLab
What does CeprLab actually do?
CeprLab is a university research laboratory at the University of Thessaly, Lamia, Greece. We conduct clinical research in three areas: Pain Science (musculoskeletal pain assessment and management), Cardiac Rehabilitation (exercise-based programmes for people with cardiovascular conditions), and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (exercise testing and rehabilitation for people with lung conditions). We also contribute to the MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy, supervise PhD candidates, and take part in continuing professional education.
Is CeprLab a clinic? Can I book an appointment for treatment?
No. CeprLab is a research laboratory, not a clinical service. We do not offer routine physiotherapy treatment or accept self-referrals for clinical care. If you are looking for physiotherapy, contact your doctor or a registered physiotherapy clinic. If you want to enquire about research participation, see below.
Where is CeprLab located, and what are your hours?
CeprLab is at the University of Thessaly campus in Lamia: 3rd km Old National Road Lamia–Athens, University Campus, 35100 Lamia, Greece, in the Department of Physiotherapy building. Research participation
How can I participate in a CeprLab research study?
CeprLab runs studies recruiting participants from the community, patient populations, and professional groups. Each study has specific eligibility criteria and its own recruitment process. To find out about currently recruiting studies, email ceprlab@uth.gr with the subject line “Research participation enquiry” and a brief description of your health background and interest.
I am a physiotherapist — can I refer a patient to CeprLab?
Referrals to CeprLab studies are welcome from physiotherapists, physicians, and other clinicians, subject to each study’s eligibility criteria and ethical-approval scope. To discuss a referral, email ceprlab@uth.gr with the subject line “Patient referral enquiry”. Please do not include patient-identifiable information in initial emails. We will respond within a few working days.
Education & PhD
How do I apply for a PhD position at CeprLab?
PhD candidates at CeprLab are registered through the Department of Physiotherapy, University of Thessaly. Doctoral positions are not advertised on a fixed schedule — availability depends on funding, ongoing projects, and supervisor capacity. Email ceprlab@uth.gr with the subject line “PhD applicant enquiry”, including your academic background, research interests, and any relevant publications. A relevant Master’s degree is normally required for admission.
What is the MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy?
The MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy is a postgraduate programme offered by the Department of Physiotherapy, University of Thessaly (re-established 2020, ΦΕΚ 1946/Β/2020). CeprLab contributes through teaching and research supervision. Admission, fees, and curriculum are administered by the Department. For details, visit the MSc programme website.
Collaboration & equipment access
Can I propose a research collaboration with CeprLab?
Yes. CeprLab is open to proposals that align with our three research lines and contribute to genuine scientific output. To propose a collaboration, email ceprlab@uth.gr with the subject line “Collaboration proposal” and a brief outline of your idea, institution, and type of collaboration (joint study, data sharing, staff exchange, grant application, and so on).
Can I use CeprLab equipment for my own research?
CeprLab equipment (including CPET systems and Biopac measurement systems) may be available to external researchers subject to availability, regulatory approval, and a formal agreement. Equipment loan for off-site use follows CeprLab’s Internal Regulations (ΦΕΚ 3923/Β/2019), which require a signed request form, proof of institutional affiliation, and appropriate insurance. Publications & contact
How do I access or cite CeprLab publications?
All CeprLab publications are listed on our Publications Hub. Each featured publication includes a DOI link to the publisher’s version. To cite a publication, use the standard citation format for the journal in question based on the information provided.
My question isn’t answered here. How do I get in touch?
