Accessibility Statement — our commitment to inclusive design

Partially conformant — WCAG 2.2 Level AA

Conformance status

The CeprLab website (currently in preview at ceprlab.statichost.page) is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, as referenced in EN 301 549 v3.2.1. “Partially conformant” means that most of the content conforms to the standard, but some parts — noted below — have not yet been fully verified. Every page passes automated testing (axe-core 4.10.2) with zero violations; the remaining work is manual assistive-technology and third-party verification.

How this website supports accessibility

• No cookies; works without JavaScript — all content and navigation work with scripts disabled; one small inline script (no cookies, no storage, no network requests) only styles the header on scroll. There is no cookie or consent banner that could trap keyboard users.
• A “skip to main content” link and a focusable main landmark on every page.
• Semantic HTML5 with landmark regions, one H1 per page, and a logical heading order.
• Descriptive link text and alternative text for images; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• A responsive layout that reflows to a single column on small screens with no horizontal scrolling, and supports 200%+ zoom.
• Respect for “reduce motion” and Windows High Contrast / forced-colors settings.
• Bilingual (Greek and English) with correct language attributes for screen readers.
• A highly legible typeface (Inter) — self-hosted, so no third-party font requests are made — covering both Greek and Latin scripts.
• Automated testing with axe-core 4.10.2 reports 0 violations on every page across the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA rule sets.

Non-accessible content and known limitations

a) Text over hero images

Some page headings appear over a photographic background behind a dark overlay. Automated tools report the contrast of this text as “needs review” because they cannot measure text over an image; we have manually verified it meets AA against the overlay. Criterion: 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) — verified manually, flagged by tools.

b) Verification still in progress

This statement is based on self-assessment. A full assistive-technology review (screen readers across all pages) and an independent third-party audit against EN 301 549 v3.2.1 have not yet been completed; both are planned before the production launch.

c) Downloadable documents

No downloadable documents are currently hosted on the site. When PDFs are added, their internal accessibility will depend on their source files; where a document is not fully accessible, we will provide an accessible alternative on request.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 3 July 2026 by the CeprLab team through self-assessment. Testing included: automated auditing with axe-core 4.10.2 on every page against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA rule sets (result: 0 violations); manual keyboard-operability and skip-link checks; review of heading structure, landmark regions and link text; colour-contrast verification of the design's colour pairs; and responsive and zoom checks across breakpoints. An independent third-party audit against EN 301 549 v3.2.1 is recommended before the production launch.

Technical information

The site relies on semantic HTML5 and CSS. It does not rely on JavaScript — navigation and all content work with scripts disabled, and the mobile menu is a native HTML <details> element. A single small inline script — which sets no cookies, uses no storage, and makes no network requests — enhances the header on scroll; it is non-essential. No third-party resources are loaded while a page renders. Technologies not relied upon for conformance: JavaScript; third-party embeds (none used); PDF documents (none currently hosted).
